About this collection

Browse 12Gb SAS SSDs for compatible enterprise servers and storage systems. Compare drive capacity, form factor, workload class, part number and supplied carrier before ordering. The 12Gb designation describes the SAS interface's 12Gbit/s signalling rate; it is not a 12GB capacity and does not promise a particular measured transfer speed.

Confirm the SAS storage path

Check that your controller, backplane and target system support the proposed SAS drive. A drive's physical size alone does not establish interface compatibility, and a bay designed for a different storage technology should not be assumed to accept it. Record the existing drive part number and the server or storage-array model when asking about a replacement.

Check the complete assembly as well as the SSD. A bare drive and a drive supplied in a manufacturer-specific carrier are different purchases. Compare the carrier, connector arrangement and any system-specific firmware or approved-part requirements. Listings intended for a named storage array should be assessed for that system rather than treated as universal server drives.

The table shows details stated in these product listings. Read each product page for the supplied condition and current availability. Workload labels such as read intensive and mixed use describe a product category; they are not a guarantee of remaining endurance or an application benchmark.

Match the drive to the workload and replacement plan

For a new configuration, specify the capacity you need per drive, the intended workload and the controller arrangement. For a replacement, check the existing array's requirements before selecting a part by capacity alone. Sector format, firmware, encryption features and usable capacity can be relevant to the proposed installation and should be verified for the exact part number.

For refurbished SSDs, ask which drive-condition or endurance information is available for the proposed order. Do not infer a remaining-life figure from a model name or an advertised interface rate. Where a matching batch is required, include the permitted alternatives and whether all drives must share the same specification.
